Our doors aren’t even opened yet but we’ve heard this question over and over again. Yet, at the same time we’ve been overwhelmed by the enormous amount of people who have told us they can not wait for us to open. Some even claim they feel like stalkers, driving by every other day just to see if we are open yet. So, to answer the question, what kind of a place is it...it’s like no place you’ve been before.
Coffee, wine and tea actually have quite a bit in common: all three beverages have a long and rich history; all have been used as inspiration and motivation; generally, one drinks a fine wine with an excellent meal, and finishes that meal with an equally rich coffee or fine tea. All three are sniffed and sipped for pleasure, offer a complex variety of palates and aromas, and all three enhance meals and special occasions.
All three are handcrafted agricultural products grown in specific regions under specific growing conditions. Most wine enthusiasts can tell you the exact year that the grapes of their favourite wine were grown in. While many coffee and tea lovers are beginning to find out more about the growing conditions of their favourite brew! Truly wonderful wines, coffee and tea cause you to get lost in the experience of drinking them!
Most often we think of wine as the perfect complement to food but tea is also a great pairing. Tea naturally complements food by rounding off its flavours. Pairing tea and wine with food is an adventure and we’re excited to create a menu featuring some of the finest locally produced ingredients found right here in Abbotsford.
Also, did you know that wine isn’t just good for the heart and the soul but it’s also good for your skin too! Grape skins are an excellent source of resveratrol, the healing powers of which are so extraordinary some experts have called it the fountain of youth. In addition, grapes contain powerful antioxidants which fight damage caused by free radicals. We were so excited to find a supplier from the heart of our BC wine region whose mission is to deliver the goodness of grapes to your skin. Look for their products on sale in our gift boutique and in the opening of our spa later this fall.
So what kind of a place is it...
It’s a community meeting place, a piece of local history, It’s a collection of our favourite things. It is more than a business; it is a family surrounded by friends, old and new and those we haven’t even met yet. It’s a place that’s focused on providing value so you can come every day. We have a wonderful yet simple menu with an emphasis on locally grown and produced food. And yes we sell coffee, tea, wine and even spa products too!
